On Fridays I'm thinking I will post some ideas and encouragement on teaching. Here's one: encourage, encourage, encourage. If the student is coming to you for lessons, they want to learn at some level. Encourage. Build them up. Be excited about how they are going about the learning process. While they are being encouraged and built up they can receive instruction. They will not be optimal in receiving instruction in a place of discouragement.
So - let's build up young musicians in our studios.
